The Partnership Manager will lead Ellevation’s support service toof existing district partners and support the development of new partnerships with districts, educators and others in the state of California. Given very positive feedback from existing partners, the launch of new products and significant momentum, Ellevation is set to dramatically expand the work we do in California.

The Partnership Manager will be responsible for the success of Ellevation’s CA partnerships. You will provide ongoing support and training to ensure that current district partners in California can maximize the use of Ellevation to enhance their work with English Language Learners. You will work closely with district leaders to understand needs and challenges and ensure that Ellevation adjusts our approach to CA district partnerships accordingly. collaborate with the Ellevation Partner Support Team to refine Ellevation’s approach to district partnerships in California. You will develop excellent relationships with district leaders, foster long-term partnerships, and help increase the impact of Ellevation.

In addition, working closely with Ellevation’s co-founders and our Sales team, you will be responsible for fostering new relationships with district leaders, policymakers, and others in California. This work will help Ellevation understand the unique policy environment in the state, inform product development, and lead to the development of new partnerships with CA districts. Through your leadership and service to districts, Ellevation will develop excellent relationships with district leaders, foster long-term partnerships, and help increase the impact of Ellevation on English Language Learners.

We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial educator who is passionate about improving outcomes for English Language Learners.  Just as important, we are looking for someone who develops excellent relationships, has tremendous communication skills, and is motivated, proactive, and a self-starter.

Requirements
  • Lead the onboarding process for CA school districts. Onboarding includes working with the district’s team responsible for Ellevation, helping them to set goals, and ensuring that Ellevation is set up to meet their needs
  • Engage with administrators in new partner districts to set goals and create a customized plan for the implementation of the Ellevation platform
  • Lead online and onsite product trainings with new Ellevation users, most of whom are ELL teachers, ELL Ccoordinators and school- based support staff. Deliver well-planned, engaging and effectively facilitated Training Planning, User Training and Refresher Training sessions 
  • Internalize and utilize existing training curriculum and content resources and be able to participate in, and contribute to, ongoing innovation and revisions to  training content and curriculum design
  • Develop and deliver ongoing support and professional development opportunities focused on helping districts connect Ellevation to broader district initiatives and goals to use Ellevation as a tool to improve ELL student outcomes
  • Communicate with district leaders to ensure the ongoing use of Ellevation, gather feedback, share new features and address challenges specific to CA’s district landscape.  
  • Identify risks that may impact the success of Ellevation within the district and proactively determine needs and gaps and take initiative for developing ways to support Ellevation partners. 
  • Collaborate with the Partner Support Team to develop innovative ways to leverage technology to communicate and support all of Ellevation’s users. 
  • Work collaboratively with our Product and Engineering teams, communicating observations and feedback from CA district partners to help inform future product development efforts.
  • Develop deep knowledge of the Ellevation product, a prerequisite for providing world-class support and service to educators. 
  • Be comfortable initiating conversation regarding expansion and growth with current CA partners to include managing the negotiations of the renewal process.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience working with English Language Learners (preferred)
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills to help districts overcome barriers and maximize the use of Ellevation.
  • Rigorous approach to project management. The CA Partnership Manager will manage complex implementations that require excellent organizational skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with audiences of all levels. 
  • Strong listening and questioning skills to gain a strategic understanding of partner needs and challenges.
  • Proven competency in identifying value-based opportunities for the partners; advocating partner needs internally and externally. 
  • Adaptable self-starter who is skilled at creating structure in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong leadership skills, including a history of increasing leadership responsibility and career growth in previous professional settings.
  • Passion for driving change in education. 
  • Travel requirements: This position can be based in either LA or San Francisco areas. Expected travel is ~30% - 50%.
